Equality Men and Women
Last night, people came over to my house. Around 15 people filled my living room. The pages that contained quotes equality men and women of religions and social communities on the world were distributed to each guest.
It is my hope that the banner of equality may be raised throughout the five continents where as yet it is not fully recognized and established. In this enlightened world of the West woman has advanced an immeasurable degree beyond the women of the Orient. And let it be known once more that until woman and man recognize and realize equality, social and political progress here or anywhere will not be possible. For the world of humanity consists of two parts or members: one is woman; the other is man. Until these two members are equal in strength, the oneness of humanity cannot be established, and the happiness and felicity of mankind will not be a reality. God willing, this is to be so

The essence of our effort to see that every child has a chance must be to assure each an equal opportunity, not to become equal, but to become different - to realize whatever unique potential of body, mind and spirit he or she possesses.

Women's rights in essence is really a movement for freedom, a movement for equality, for the dignity of all women, for those who work outside the home and those who dedicate themselves with more altruism than any profession I know to being wives and mothers, cooks and chauffeurs, and child psychologists and loving human beings.

Arise then, women of this day! Arise, all women who have hearts! ... We, the women of one country, will be too tender of those of another country to allow our sons to be trained to injure theirs.

Warfare has traditionally been carried out primarily by men, since they seem better physically equipped for aggressive behavior. Women, on the other hand, tend to be more caring and more sensitive to others’ discomfort and pain. Although men and women have the same potentials for aggression and warm-heartedness, they differ in which of the two more easily manifests. Thus, if the majority of world leaders were women, perhaps there would be less danger of war and more cooperation on the basis of global concern – although, of course, some women can be difficult! I sympathize with feminists, but they must not merely shout. They must exert efforts to make positive contributions to society.

The most important rite of the Vedic wedding ceremony is Sapatpadi. Here the bride and bridegroom take seven steps together around the nuptial fire (Agni) and make the following seven wedding vows to each other:
With God as guide, let us take, the first step to nourish each other, the second step to grow together in strength, the third step to preserve our wealth, the fourth step to share our joys and sorrows, the fifth step to care for our children, the sixth step to be together forever, and the seventh step to remain lifelong friends, perfect halves to make a perfect whole.

For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; neither was man created for woman, but woman for man..... In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God.

In Islam, also said things about the equality between 'em. In the history of Islam, before Muhammad was born, Jahiliyah took over the rule at that time, the Age of folly, madness, which was degrading the dignity of women. Men could have more than 3 women without legitimate relationship with cheap price. Women were like animal. Not rarely, parent who had daughters, buried 'em alive.
Mohammad was born and Islam came. According to Al Quran, they knew how to put women in right place. Their life, rights, professions in society, education, honor, terms with legality of marriage (at this case is marriage), if the men want to have it. If you are expecting to divorce them, it must be in a proper way and their rights have to be fulfilled. And to make them more valuable, in Islam they are covered by jilbab.
In sholat, man becomes the imam and woman is the makmum. Basically man is created to protect woman. The proportionality of woman before marriage, she is entitled to do and get anything. But after marriage, Islam teaches the rules that have a good purpose for woman to serve her husband well, taking care and keep trust of him. And mutual exchange of interest of him as well. But what we must remember is it all has to be objective, happiness, and to be success of the world and afterlife.
Is it true, women and men should be equal?
Now let us think about the real equality of them at this time. Should they be equal? We can say it's getting true, for example: There was woman who used to be President, Megawati, The World Economist Sri Mulyani, and the Badminton Champion Susi Susanti. I'm thinking that Kartini's dream comes true.
But do you think the men who work as a fisherman or sulfur stones carrier on Ijen mountain. Should women do same think like them?
