Slide 1:
This book tells about what we actually have been doing in cyberspace when each is using technology in it.
Always on panopticon or cooperation amplifier is not more than a question "where is our position now?"
Slide 2:
Panopticon: Pan which means everywhere dan opticon means being seen, making 'panopticon' means place where everything is being seen. Everything we are doing, others are able to see it.
Slide 4:
After knowing what happened due to technology, this question has emerged as a key to discover what should we do about technology.
Slide 5:
This book poses at least 3 kinds of potential threats:

Technology is done to amplify cooperation and to intensify surveillance makes what we know and do can minimize dangers and maximize opportunities.Slide 4:

Slide 5:
This book poses at least 3 kinds of potential threats:
- Threats to liberty
- Threats to quality of life
- Threats to human dignity
Slide 7: This picture explains what we do anywhere, someone else would have seen it. We are aware that they see us, but with indifference, we let them see anything at all about us.
Slide 8: Does using technology make us more comfortable? From this question we cannot answer exactly only with our brain. We have to know from our feeling as well.
Slide 9: I take the example from the life of Amish People. In America there is a community called Amish. They have own life. They have own farm place, they have own culture. The interesting thing is they chose not to dissolve in the modernity and still maintain a life without electricity, without the frenzied that smells of technology. They go to everywhere by horses. And they don't like to be taken pictures.
But they are still comfortable with their lifestyle. And they make people to see USA from the other side.
Slide 10: And in Threats to human dignity of technology questioned about our relationship toward others when we're using technology. Is it true that we are too focused on what we do with our technology, making our social relationships disrupted.
Slide 11: He is using machine to clean leafs at his yard. He thinks that using it is more effective, faster, and cost less expensive. But the other hand he doesn't know that his machine is making noise for his neighbor. He doesn't care about that. And he just keeps doing it to get his yard clean from leafs.
Slide 12: Can discipline evolve by using technology?
Slide 13: What people should know about us guides and requires us to show the best side of ourselves. This is kind of the good side of technology.
Slide 14: For the example:
- Airport Safety: We let security man check all of our luggage, all of our stuff. It is not more just to show that we do not carry things that feel danger in our flight.
- Prisoner: They are required to do well in prison because someone is watching them.
- Believe in God: Actually we don't know where is God. But we know and believe that God is standing to watch all of our attitude in our day life. It guides us to always do nicely and not to do bad things.
For some reason technology is good for our future. For example, we use discipline to show ourselves in good perspective. And we are always required to do so. But the other reason, it could be bad when we don't show the true and exactly about ourselves.
Slide 16:
What is User Interface? It is a place where interaction between humans and machines occurs.
Slides 17:
User Interface makes dangerous life, because it has:

Slides 17:
User Interface makes dangerous life, because it has:
- no eye contact
- no facial expression
- no tone of voice
Communication by email can make misunderstanding because they are not in the real meeting.
Getting information from internet is less accurate than doing own research.
Slide 19:
And what is the impact if the examples from the previous slide occurred:
It makes us more likely if we live alone in this world. We meet other people unsmiling. This makes us less friendly. And individualism would play an active role on it.

Slide 20:
Now, where is your position?
Are you controlling technology by using them? or you are using them because they are controlling you?
Now we get little bit knowledge, where technology should be taken place and when technology should be done. It depends on your thinking and feeling to use technology.
